Install in Edge

Use a current desktop Microsoft Edge. The new anmerko Edge listing is awaiting publication. The download note below states the current approved build’s installed name.

Install manually

1. Extract the ZIP into a permanent folder. Edge continues to load files from this folder, so keep it in place.
2. Enter edge://extensions in the address bar and turn on Developer mode.
3. Choose Load unpacked, then select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
4. Open Edge’s Extensions menu and show the extension, using the installed name shown above, in the toolbar.
5. Open a regular website, refresh it, and click the extension. Add a comment to confirm it works.

Microsoft documents this flow as sideloading an extension.

Update a manual installation

Download the newer approved bundle from this page. Save open drafts and replace the files in the same extension folder. At edge://extensions, click Reload on the extension’s card and refresh your open websites.

Keep the existing installation and browser profile during an ordinary update. Before changing folders, removing the extension, or switching to a store installation, export your feedback; there is no automatic transfer or import. The renamed anmerko build starts with empty comments and default settings and does not import Briefmark data.
