Install in Chrome

Use desktop Chrome 142 or later. The new anmerko Chrome Web Store listing is awaiting publication. The download note below states the current approved build’s installed name.

Download for Chrome (0.5.4)
This approved legacy Briefmark build appears as Briefmark after installation.

The public ZIP above works in both Chrome and Edge.

  1. Extract the ZIP into a permanent folder. Keep that folder after installation: Chrome loads the extension from it.
  2. Enter chrome://extensions in the address bar and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked. Select the extracted folder that contains manifest.json, not the ZIP or a parent folder.
  4. Open Chrome’s Extensions menu and pin the extension using the installed name shown above.
  5. Open a regular website, refresh it, and click the extension. Select an element and save a comment to check the installation.

These steps use Chrome’s unpacked-extension installation flow.

Download the newer approved ZIP from this page. Save any open draft, then replace the contents of the same extension folder with the extracted files. Keep the folder’s path unchanged. At chrome://extensions, click Reload on the extension’s card, then refresh the websites where you use it.

Do not remove the installed extension to update it. A different folder, browser profile, or switch to the store installation can create separate storage. Export your feedback first if changing installations; there is no automatic transfer or import.

The renamed anmerko build starts with empty comments and default settings. It does not import Briefmark data. Export feedback you want to keep before installing.
